Laura Sorrell

Laura's professional background includes more than forty years in Executive Search and organizational consulting in both the corporate environment and philanthropy. Laura began her career working for a major international search firm, Korn/Ferry. She went on to serve as principal of her own firm. Her assignments range from identifying organizational needs and conducting executive searches to succession planning and marketplace research. Since 1983, Laura has worked with a variety of clients in technology, energy, manufacturing, real estate, financial, healthcare, hospitality, and professional services industries. In 2001, Laura redirected her efforts from managing a 20+ person firm to concentrate exclusively on serving her clients.

In the last twenty years, in addition to her work with corporate clients, Laura has worked with nonprofits and foundations across the country to acquire the highest level of talent to meet various organizational needs and the challenges of addressing specific social problems. She has been involved in designing and executing strategic initiatives, as well as succession planning for future generations. And she has participated in various efforts at forming collaborative partnerships across organizations, institutions, and sectors in order to achieve shared goals. Laura specializes in bringing together teams of qualitative and quantitative data specialists with community leaders and influencers, to create shared and creative approaches to problem-solving among stakeholders.

Laura currently serves on a variety of nonprofit boards and holds a B.A. in English from Baylor University and an M.A. in Liberal Studies from Rice University.

Priscilla Plumb

Priscilla has enjoyed a forty-year career in human resources administration, recruiting, training, operations and communications for a variety of professional services firms and multi-national corporations and clients. Most recently Priscilla has been recruiting C-Suite executives for public, privately held, and nonprofit firms. Prior to joining Sorrell, Priscilla served in a leading role on HP’s Global Social Investment team, where she managed community programs and large-scale alliances for corporate philanthropy and directed both strategic planning and grant implementation for the HP Company Foundation.  She served on the corporate merger Program Management team prior to HP’s acquisition of Compaq Computer Corporation and contributed extensive work in cross-cultural integration for the two companies.  Additionally, as a Senior Director with ROI Communication she provided myriad internal communication consulting services to large, global, corporate clients, many of whom were undergoing significant growth and transformation.

Priscilla currently runs much of Sorrell’s recruiting efforts with foundations and nonprofits across the country. She recently spearheaded a major effort to provide collaborative learning opportunities for organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This effort was part of a national capital campaign for The Center for Pursuit, a service provider to individuals with I/DD in Houston. 

Priscilla holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Rice University. She is a graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Business/Civic Leadership Forum and a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum, Houston Chapter.
